Surtax funding strengthens school safety by providing the security tools schools rely on every day.
This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.
One example is the Raptor Badge Alert system. Funded by the Surtax, the system is designed to enhance student and staff safety by providing a faster emergency response when assistance is needed.
Tools like Raptor help schools communicate quickly and make it possible to respond rapidly in an emergency. When these safety systems are in place, students and staff can feel confident walking through the doors each morning.
Sales Surtax ensures Brevard Public Schools can continue investing in protective measures that help keep every school a safe and welcoming place for students to learn.

Calling All Terriers! The Great Centennial Book-a-thon needs your help! Our goal is 100 new books! Since our budget got slashed again this year, help us keep a love for reading and books alive with our High School Terriers!
When I first started at THS, 7 years ago, the library budget could buy over 300 books, this year can’t even reach 100 books ☹. You can image how hard it is to fulfill the requests by our students. Our ELA classes are checking out books at a higher rate than ever before! Thanks to the no cellphones, we have students consistently asking for this book or that book or recommending series they know other students would enjoy 😊 A special Centennial donation sticker will be placed inside each one of these books.
Attention Seniors & Juniors: Josten's will be on campus on Friday during the Senior Meeting at 9 AM and the Junior Meeting at 10 AM. See the flyers for more information.

Congratulations to Liam Odermann who is selected as our Big Dawg Sportsmanship Award Winner for the month of September. Each month, THS Athletics will nominate and award a student-athlete that is going above and beyond in the athletics arena, making us proud both on & off of campus, showing sportsmanship, and preserving the true spirit of the game. Liam was nominated by his Swim Coach, NaTasha Kremer who shared the following about him, “Liam is a great young man. He always takes the time to help new team members as well as support all of the team. Recently at a swim meet, Liam had to substitute for an injured swimmer in one of the toughest races and he didn't hesitate. He’s a great teammate and incredible role model.” Congratulations, Liam!
We’d like to also recognize Lillie Brown-Frost who was also nominated by her bowling coach for her continuous positive support on our Bowling team.
